Inspirés par la « philosophie des ascensions » du Pyrénéiste Henry Russell, les deux personnages ne portent ni bagage ni nourriture et se fondent dans le paysage. Les conditions de ce territoire – altitude, climat, chemins, glaciers – influencent leurs gestes et leur présence. Leurs interactions avec les randonneurs réels montrent les tensions entre appropriation et immersion et posent la question de ce que signifie traverser ces territoires aujourd’hui.

In the heart of the Pyrenees, hikers follow marked trails, cross the Ossoue Glacier, reach the summit of the Vignemale, and then descend. Among them, two figures remain at high altitude, attempting to inhabit the mountain.

Inspired by the “philosophy of ascents” of Pyrenean mountaineer Henry Russell, the two characters carry neither supplies nor food, blending into the landscape. The territory’s conditions—altitude, climate, trails, glaciers—shape their movements and presence. Their interactions with real hikers reveal tensions between appropriation and immersion, and raise the question of what it means to experience these territories today.
